International law

International law

To regulate the relationship between states, creating rights and duties. It has evolved from a right of coexistence to a right of cooperation between states. It has also seen the emergence of many new actors, each with a different capacity to act.

The main areas of research are general questions and specific profiles of International Law (public and private), with particular reference to the issues of arbitration, international trade law and foreign investment as well as maritime law and human rights. Specific profiles include the fight against transnational organised crime, money laundering, human trafficking for sexual exploitation both at an international and a European level, the gender perspective in international law.
