Organisation

University departments are organisational structures that, within Italian universities, promote and coordinate the activities of one or more sectors of research that are homogeneous in terms of purpose and method.

The organisation of the department is governed by the university statute.

  • Department governing bodies

    The Head of Department, the Deputy Director, the Administrative Manager, the Department Council and the Department Board.

  • Commissions and committees

    University commissions and committees assist the Head of Department and the Board as they fulfil specific roles and functions. Their main purpose is to provide preliminary investigations and proposals regarding strategic issues for the Department.

  • Institutional representatives

    The Head of Department may delegate powers for issues of particular importance.
